Bengaluru Terror Plot : Bengaluru Police has arrested a man from West Bengal. Police said the accused was trying to join Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and was plotting terrorist attacks against Pakistan Army and India. The accused, identified as Ashful Malik, was arrested on August 11 by Bengaluru Police from Bommasandra Industrial Area. The police got intelligence that he was plotting to attack the Pakistani army.
TTP came in contact with terrorists through social media
According to the police statement, the suspected accused lived in Jigani area and worked as a security guard. The accused was in contact with a person named Imran Ahinder in Afghanistan. Imran Ahindar is said to be a member of dreaded terrorist outfit TTP and came in contact with Ashful Malik through Facebook.
Wanted to take revenge with Pakistani army
Bengaluru police said Ashful believed that the Pakistani army was persecuting Pakistani people and mosques, and that the Pakistani army also supported Israel. In this situation, he wanted to join the Tehreek-e-Taliban terrorist organization to take revenge on the Pakistani army and for this purpose, he was in touch with Imran Ahinder of Afghanistan. He also obtained a passport and applied for a visa to travel to Afghanistan. However, for some reason, he could not go to Afghanistan.
Police found important evidence in the form of audio recordings and messages
The police found messages and audio recordings from Ashaful’s mobile phone as evidence in this regard. Police have arrested the accused and are interrogating further. The police have registered a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code for conspiracy, sedition and willful participation in terrorist act. Police said that the accused was currently residing in Jigani area of Bengaluru and his native is North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
