Khajni/Gorakhpur. On the occasion of Independence Day, sports competitions among the youth were organized with enthusiasm and excitement in Gram Sabha Bheusa alias Bankata. Like every year, this year also various sports competitions were organized in the courtyard of the village playground, courtesy of village head representative Jhinkan Beldar. The youth of the area participated enthusiastically in the competitions and displayed their talent brilliantly.

In the programme, the youth showed their strength in many competitions including swimming, running, cricket and volleyball. There was a crowd of players and villagers gathered in the field since morning. There was fierce competition between the players in cricket and volleyball matches. The spectators cheered the players with applause on every score and run. The increasing interest in sports among the youth and the atmosphere of healthy competition was clearly visible in the programme.

Village head representative Jhinkan Beldar said that it is necessary to organize sports competitions to move the youth of the village in a healthy, active and positive direction. He said that there is no dearth of talent in rural areas, the only need is to give them proper platform and encouragement. Along with teaching discipline, hard work and team spirit to the youth, sports also play an important role in their physical and mental development.

At the conclusion of the competitions, the winners and runners-up were honored with shields by the village head representative and organizers. Avesh secured first place in the swimming competition, while Yogesh won the race. Players also performed brilliantly in cricket and other competitions.

A large number of villagers and youth including Arun Kumar alias Panu, Dilip Bharat, Shailesh, Chandrashekhar, Indal Yadav, Pradeep Singh, Ramsingh, Ahil, Ruchima, Ramkaran, Sonu, Harish were present in the event. The event made the Independence Day celebration even more memorable with the colors of sports, enthusiasm and brotherhood.
