He also placed those supporting separatists and standing in favor of Article 370 in this category. Rijiju also said that those who talk about cutting the chicken's neck to separate the north-eastern part of India from the country have also been called mental Naxals. Chicken Neck is an approximately 22 km wide narrow corridor of West Bengal that connects the northeastern states with the rest of the country.

P Chidambaram's answer

After Prime Minister Modi's statement, P Chidambaram has given his reaction on social media. He wrote in one line in his post that he is proud of the fact that he is a mental Naxal. Political controversy increased after this comment of Chidambaram, only after which Rijiju posted that the Prime Minister had not called the opposition leaders as mental Naxals.
