New Delhi. Student agitation continues against alleged irregularities in Jharkhand recruitment examinations. Meanwhile, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the Chief Minister to seriously consider the demands of the agitating students and meet them personally to resolve their remaining concerns. He said that the youth should be listened to and the government should take appropriate steps to resolve this issue.

The right to peaceful protest is one of the main pillars of democracy
Rahul Gandhi, in a letter sent to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, said that the Congress Party believes that the right to peaceful protest given in the Constitution is one of the main pillars of democracy. He said that Congress has given its full support to the students who have been protesting against paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the education system for the last few months. Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the Indian education system has been taken over by RSS and BJP and it has been made a medium for exploitation and oppression of students. He said that the education system is no longer as strong a knowledge system as it was a decade ago.
'The demands of the students are legitimate'
Rahul Gandhi said in the letter that students in Jharkhand are protesting against alleged irregularities in the state recruitment examinations. Their protest is peaceful and their demands are legitimate. He also praised the Jharkhand government for initiating dialogue with the students. He said that talks have been started with the students through the committee formed by the government and agreement has been reached on many demands of the students. However, despite this the movement continues and some students are sitting on an indefinite hunger strike.

Rahul Gandhi urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to personally meet the representatives of the agitating students. He said that the personal meeting of the Chief Minister will help in addressing the remaining concerns of the students and strengthen the commitment of the government. He said that the youth of India are the future of the country. It is important to show solidarity with them and support them in such times of crisis. Rahul Gandhi appealed to the Chief Minister to listen to the students and take appropriate steps to resolve this entire issue.
Government again called for talks
The students' agitation in Ranchi has been going on for more than 20 days. On August 16, protesting students had burnt effigies of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. After this, the Jharkhand government has once again invited the students for talks. Several rounds of talks have already taken place between the government and the students, but till now no concrete solution has been reached. The meeting of August 17 is being considered important from the point of view of the movement.

The government has called the protesting students for talks on August 17 at 2 pm. Students have been informed about this proposal of the government on behalf of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and ADM, Law and Order. Now everyone's eyes are on the outcome of this meeting between the government and the students.
