Afghanistan has appointed Darwesh Rasooli as its captain for the 2026 Asian Games. Najibullah Jadran and Karim Jannat, who have represented Afghanistan at the international level, have also been included in the squad. Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Umarzai have been rested and not given a place in the squad. Youngsters like Mohammad Akram, Hasan Isakhil, Khalid Taniwal, Imran Mir and Faisal Khan Shinozada have been included in the squad.

The men's cricket matches of the 2026 Asian Games will be played from September 17 to October 3. Afghanistan have been placed in Group 'A' along with Japan and Nepal.
