New Delhi, Aug 18:
The BJP has unveiled a revamped national organisational team under party president Nitin Nabin, bringing several new faces and returning leaders into key positions ahead of a series of state elections.
Among the major changes, Amit Malviya has been replaced as the party’s IT and social-media chief by Deepak Mhaske, while Hemang Joshi takes over as president of the BJP’s youth wing, replacing Tejasvi Surya.
Former Union minister Smriti Irani returns to a key organisational role as national general secretary, while former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also been brought back into the national structure.
The reshuffle includes 13 national vice-presidents, eight general secretaries and 16 national secretaries, besides changes in the party’s organisational wings representing women, youth, OBCs, SCs, STs, minorities and farmers.
Other prominent changes include Piyush Goyal becoming treasurer, replacing Rajesh Agrawal, and Ram Madhav returning as a national vice-president. Roop Kumari has been appointed Mahila Morcha chief, replacing Vanathi Srinivasan.
The overhaul comes as the BJP seeks to strengthen its organisation and social representation ahead of crucial elections, including the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
