Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka has raised questions on the state police over the assault on the family of a party volunteer in West Bengal. Ranka alleged that despite receiving threats against the family of CJP volunteer Abdul Hafiz, the police did not take timely action. They claim that Abdul's father Sheikh Mohammad Mafiq was beaten up by people associated with BJP, after which he died. After this, while talking to the media, he later said that improve yourself otherwise we will improve.
According to Ashutosh Ranka, Abdul Hafiz had gone to Jantar Mantar in Delhi on July 18 to participate in a demonstration to education. After returning from there, he joined CJP's Fix Our Schools campaign. Ranka alleges that for this reason local BJP MLA Nirmal Dhara and his supporters targeted Hafiz and threatened him.
Controversy increased after inspecting the school
According to the CJP leader, Hafiz had gone to seek permission from local headmaster Kashinath Dey to see the condition of the village government school and suggest improvements in it. Ranka alleged that Kashinath Dey is associated with BJP and he informed the people associated with the party about Abdul's activities. After this the electricity to Abdul's house was cut off and his family was attacked. Ranka claims that Abdul's father Mafiq was also beaten up when he intervened. The family had to go to the hospital for treatment.
Ashutosh Ranka's statement
Ashutosh Ranka said, 'The one who considers himself a big goon has not yet had to deal with the cockroaches of this country. And he is giving a last warning to all the BJP goons roaming around the country, reform yourself, otherwise you will be reformed. Now this video of his is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
8 arrested, search for two accused
According to the police, after Mafik's death, it was claimed on social media that he was brutally beaten. After registering the FIR in this case, the police have so far arrested 8 people. These include 3 named accused and 5 other suspects. All the accused have been sent to police custody for 8 days. At the same time, the police is searching for two other absconding accused. Apart from this, policemen have also been deployed for the security of Abdul's house. The police have appealed to the people not to spread any kind of rumor or misinformation without concrete information until the investigation is completed.
