Jagdishpur (Bhagalpur) – There is resentment among the villagers due to the poor condition of electricity supply in Kharadi Mohalla, Ward No. 12 of Gram Panchayat Puraini South of Jagdishpur block. Villagers say that electricity supply is disrupted every day and sometimes people have to face a lot of trouble due to power failure for two consecutive days.

According to the local people, the transformer installed in Purani Bazaar is handling the electrical load of Kharadi Mohalla, Momin Tola and domestic consumers as well as fabrication units, flour mills, textile weaving workshops and other commercial establishments. Villagers claim that due to excessive load, problems like phase failure, burning of wires and other technical problems arise repeatedly.

According to villagers, sometimes it takes 24 to 48 hours to repair even minor technical problems. Children, elderly and common consumers are troubled due to continuous power cuts in the scorching heat. At the same time, it is also adversely affecting the functioning of small businessmen dependent on electricity.

Former Sarpanch Tarannum Firdaus said that the villagers have informed him about the electricity problem. He said that being without electricity for two days is a serious problem. The electricity department should take the matter seriously and take necessary steps immediately.

He has demanded separation of electrical load of domestic and commercial consumers and installation of high capacity transformer in the area. The villagers have demanded the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department to take immediate cognizance of the matter and provide a permanent solution to the problem.
