Host Maharashtra lost 2-3 to Manipur
Junior Women's National Hockey Tournament in Pimpri
Chandigarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur in quarter finals

Pune: Major Dhyan Chand from Nehrunagar-Pimpri Hockey Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Madhya Pradesh and Hockey Manipur reached the quarter-finals on Tuesday in the 16th Hockey India Junior Women's National Championship held at the Stadium. In the final match of the day, the host hockey (Sports) Maharashtra lost 2-3 to Manipur. The tournament is organized by Hockey Maharashtra under the guidance of Hockey India and in collaboration with Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Maharashtra lost to Manipur

In Group 'C', Hockey Manipur defeated hosts Maharashtra 3-2. Manipur's Sallu Pukhrambam scored a hat-trick in the 21st, 43rd and 47th minutes. For Maharashtra, Ruby Rathod scored in the 49th minute and Tanishka Shinde in the 53rd minute. However, Manipur maintained their lead and won the match. In this group, Uttar Pradesh Hockey secured the first position on the basis of goal difference with four points from two matches. Manipur also finished second with four points. Maharashtra lost both the matches.

Chandigarh win over Punjab

In Group 'A', Hockey Chandigarh registered their first win of the tournament by defeating Hockey Punjab 3-1. Diksha (33rd minute), Raveena (34th) and Priya Chauhan (46th) scored for Chandigarh. Jasmin Kaur scored the only goal for Punjab in the 40th minute. Hockey Jharkhand finished first in the group with six points, while Chandigarh finished second with three points.

Odisha win 6-0 over Bengal

Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Hockey Bengal 6-0 in Group 'B'. Drupati Naik scored two goals in the 10th and 47th minutes. Ajita Ekka (29th), Ekka Sonali (30th), Binati Minz (44th) and Bholi Doli (49th) scored one goal each. With this win, Odisha finished second with three points. Hockey Haryana finished top with six points.

Madhya Pradesh beat Himachal

In Group D, Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Hockey Himachal 6-0 one-sidedly. Tanvi opened the account in the 12th minute. Kajal scored three goals in the 19th, 26th and 52nd minutes. Mithali Sharma (58th) and Kudrat (59th) scored one goal each. Madhya Pradesh topped the group with six points.
