Commenting on the significance of the event, MD, PhD Ha Anh Duc, Director General of the Medical Services Administration under the Ministry of Health, affirmed that the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Provinces Chapter of Private Hospitals represents a meaningful step forward for Vietnam’s healthcare sector.

He emphasized that private healthcare is an integral part of both the public–private healthcare ecosystem and Vietnam’s healthcare system as a whole. Dr. Duc called on the chapter to strengthen connectivity across its member network, accelerate the transfer of medical technologies and clinical expertise, advance digital transformation, and foster closer collaboration with the public healthcare system, thereby contributing more effectively to improving healthcare delivery and protecting the health of the population.

At the ceremony, the association announced the establishment of the chapter and its executive committee for the 2026-2029 term.

Tran Thi Lam was appointed chairwoman, with nine vice chairpersons. Lam is founding chairwoman of Hoa Lam Group, head of the Strategic Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Healthcare Park and honorary chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Health Science Association.

Lam said the executive committee would use “Solidarity – Innovation – Service” as the guiding principles for its activities.

“We will build the chapter into an effective organization that creates value for patients and the community,” she said. “The chapter will connect not only hospitals but also responsibility, expertise and the aspiration to contribute, enabling the private healthcare system to proactively integrate internationally and develop sustainably.”

At the conference, Tran Quoc Thanh, executive director of Gia An 115 Hospital and City International Hospital, presented the chapter’s priorities for 2026-2027.

These include strengthening cooperation among hospitals, facilitating the transfer of medical techniques, promoting digital transformation, developing healthcare personnel and improving management capabilities.

Truong Vinh Long, deputy head of the Strategic Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Healthcare Park, said international cooperation would be among the chapter’s priorities.

The chapter plans to focus on four areas: defining its role as a connector, promoting cooperation among hospitals, expanding international partnerships, and supporting efforts toward international healthcare standards and accreditations, including IHF, HMA, AACI and JCI.

These priorities will be developed into action plans and roadmaps to support member hospitals in expanding international medical cooperation.

“International integration is not only a trend but also an inevitable path for Vietnam’s private healthcare sector to enhance its capabilities, strengthen its position and expand its presence in the region,” Long said.

The chapter’s executive committee comprises healthcare leaders and administrators from the private healthcare sector. It is expected to serve as a platform for cooperation and professional exchange among private healthcare providers in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces and cities.
