Randeep Hooda is one of those Bollywood stars who has worked hard to make his mark. Whenever he comes into any role, he gets completely absorbed in it. This is why today he is counted among the most talented artists of the industry. However, his journey to success was not so simple. Before making a name for himself in films, he drove taxis in Australia, worked in theater and waited for almost three years for a film.

Randeep was born on 20 August 1976 in Rohtak, Haryana. His father was a doctor and mother was active in social service. His childhood was spent with his grandmother, as his parents lived abroad due to their work. Randeep had a keen interest in films and acting since childhood. When English films were shown in school, he used to think of himself in the role of a hero.

Randeep moved to Australia for his studies. There he did many jobs along with his studies, which included driving a taxi. In an interview he told that while driving a taxi he got the opportunity to meet different types of people. Once the great cricketer Vivian Richards also rode in his taxi. While living in Australia, Randeep always had a desire to act, due to which he decided to return to India and try his luck in films.
Beginning of film career
Randeep got the opportunity to work in Mira Nair's film 'Monsoon Wedding' in 2001, which was a turning point for him. This film was highly appreciated, but after this he did not get big opportunities immediately. During this time he realized that there was a need for further improvement in acting, so he took the help of theatre. Here he got a chance to work with experienced artists like Naseeruddin Shah, which honed his acting skills.
Ram Gopal Varma's trust
A turning point in Randeep's career came when director Ram Gopal Varma assured him of launching him in his film. Randeep told that Verma asked him how much money he required every month, and he demanded Rs 35 thousand. After this, he continued to receive this amount every month for three years, but the film project did not progress. Despite this, Randeep did not give up and kept working on his acting.

With time, Randeep started getting better roles. Films like 'D', 'Risk', 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai', 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster' and 'Jannat 2' strengthened his identity. He played the character of Mahabir Bhati in the 2014 film 'Highway', which was appreciated by the audience and critics.
In 2016, Randeep played the lead role in 'Sarbjit', for which he underwent a major transformation in his body. His hard work and acting made this character very impressive. After this, he also appeared in the Hollywood film 'Extraction' with Chris Hemsworth, which gave him international recognition.
