Country. The political turmoil over the decision of the Congress Working Committee regarding Vande Mataram has intensified. Union Home Minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress, alleging that the party has adopted an anti-national stance by deciding to sing only two verses of the national anthem as per its 1937 resolution. He said that this decision of Congress exposes its politics of appeasement.
Amit Shah targeted Congress-
Amit Shah said that the Congress Working Committee has decided to sing only two verses of Vande Mataram. He alleged that in 1937, it was decided to distribute Vande Mataram to please the Muslims and this laid the foundation for the partition of the country.
He said that the Narendra Modi government has worked to correct the mistake of Congress to strengthen national unity and has also given it a legal basis.
'Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and insult to the martyrs'-
The Home Minister said that Congress's decision is not only an insult to the work of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, but is also an insult to lakhs of freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country.
Amit Shah said that on one hand Congress is implementing its 1937 resolution, while on the other hand it is rejecting the law made by the Parliament. He accused the Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi of once again pursuing the politics of appeasement.
He said that the country should unite against this decision of the Congress and send a message that the politics of appeasement will no longer be accepted. BJP has strongly condemned the decision of Congress.
VHP also cornered Congress-
At the same time, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also criticized the decision of Congress. VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal alleged that the Congress is moving away from Indian cultural and civilizational values.
He claimed that the remaining four verses of Vande Mataram contain words like Dharma, Shakti, Bhakti, Mandir, Vani, Gyan and Durga, which are associated with Indian culture, tradition and national spirit. Bansal alleged that the political thinking of Congress is not in line with Indian cultural identity.
Now only two verses will be sung in Congress programs-
The Congress Working Committee on Wednesday decided to follow its resolution passed in 1937 regarding Vande Mataram. Under this, now only the first two verses of the national anthem will be sung in party programs. After this decision, political rhetoric between BJP and Congress has intensified.
