Patna: The government has made a big announcement for social media creators in Bihar. Now registered creators making videos to government schemes and programs can get additional payment based on the reach of their videos. Changes in Bihar Social Media and Other Online Media Rules, 2026 have been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
You will get 10 thousand rupees for 1 lakh views
According to the new rule, social media influencers and online content creators registered under the government's media guidelines will be paid on the basis of video performance. If the video gets 1 lakh views after 30 days of uploading, then the creator will be given an additional Rs 10,000.
However, the maximum amount received this way for a video will be Rs 1 lakh. This means that even if a video gets several lakh or more views, the limit of additional payment will not go beyond Rs 1 lakh.
Followers will also be monitored
The government has also made a provision for regular checking of followers of registered social media accounts, pages and channels. Its purpose is to maintain the credibility and transparency of creators promoting government schemes.
This means that merely having a large number of followers will not be enough. The government can also monitor the activities and status of followers of the respective social media handles.
Big step in the field of AI also
The Cabinet has also approved the agreement between the Information Technology Department of Bihar and Taiyo AI India Pvt Ltd. Through this, there is a plan to develop an ecosystem of Artificial Intelligence in the state.
With the help of AI based system, efforts will be made to monitor government projects, detect problems like delay in work and increasing costs earlier. Data analytics and geospatial techniques will also be used.
Questions may arise on the decision
Political debate may also start on this decision of the government. The question is whether the videos made with government money will only give information about the schemes or will also become a medium of publicity for the government. In such a situation, the government will be challenged to maintain a clear distinction between information about schemes and political propaganda.
