Preparation to declare PAK gangster Shahzad Bhatti and his network as terrorists, 200+ henchmen arrested

New Delhi: Action has intensified towards declaring Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti and his alleged network as terrorists. Uttar Pradesh ATS has prepared a detailed report regarding the activities of this network and sent it to the Central Government. The agency says that the activities of the network are not limited only to criminal incidents, but can also pose a serious threat to the security of the country.

UP ATS has been continuously running a campaign against this network for the last four months. During the investigation, 8 FIRs have been registered in network cases in Lucknow alone. Let us tell you, information about 12 cases being registered in other districts of the state including Bijnor, Ghaziabad, Hapur has also come to light.

Serious allegations to railways and target killing

According to the investigating agencies, Shehzad Bhatti's network is accused of targeting sensitive places to railways, damaging signal boxes and allegedly trying to carry out target killing by luring youth into their trap. The agencies are also investigating aspects to the conspiracy of terrorist activities.

In May, police had conducted raids in several parts of Uttar Pradesh in search of about 175 suspects linked to the network. During this period, information about the contacts and activities of the suspects was collected. Till now it has been said that preventive action will be taken against 62 people.

Many names under investigation

Apart from Shehzad Bhatti, many names including Abid Jatt, Hammad Memon, Javed Pakistani, Raza Bhai Pakistani, Ajmal Gurjar Pakistani, Rashid Bhatti, Rana Hussain, Major Iqbal and Major Rashid have come to light in the ATS investigation. The agency is investigating their alleged contacts and role in the network. UP ATS claims that Shehzad Bhatti is trying to carry out violent activities in different parts of the country by strengthening his network in Uttar Pradesh. On this basis, a report has been sent to the Center and a recommendation has been made to declare him and his network as terrorists. At present, a final decision on this proposal is yet to be taken by the Central Government. At the same time, ATS is continuing the search for the suspects associated with the network and investigating their activities.
