Chennai: Lokesh Kanagaraj-starrer DC continued its second-week run at the box office on Wednesday, recording another decline in daily earnings. The Tamil romantic action drama collected an estimated Rs 1.65 crore net in India on Day 13, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.
The film’s Day 13 collection was 13.2% lower than its Day 12 earnings of Rs 1.90 crore. Despite the latest dip, DC has crossed the Rs 60 crore mark in India net collections and is closing in on the Rs 100 crore worldwide gross milestone.
The film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 60.31 crore, while its India gross collection has reached Rs 69.44 crore. Including its overseas earnings of Rs 21.85 crore, DC’s worldwide gross collection stands at Rs 91.29 crore.
DC earns Rs 1.65 crore on Day 13
According to Sacnilk data, DC earned Rs 1.65 crore from 2,157 shows across India on its second Wednesday.
The collection represents another drop for the film during its second week.
On Day 12, the movie had earned Rs 1.90 crore, meaning its Day 13 collection declined by around 13.2%.
While the drop indicates that the film’s daily momentum is weakening, DC continues to maintain a sizeable theatrical run after crossing Rs 60 crore in India net collections.
The film’s performance has been supported primarily by its Tamil-language release, with the Telugu version also contributing to the overall earnings.
Tamil version remains the biggest contributor
The Tamil version continued to account for the majority of DC’s domestic earnings on Day 13.
It collected around Rs 1.20 crore from 1,457 shows, recording an overall occupancy of approximately 21%.
The Telugu version contributed another Rs 44 lakh from 655 shows and also recorded around 21% occupancy.
The Hindi version had a much smaller contribution, earning approximately Rs 1 lakh from 45 shows, with occupancy of around 9%.
The figures show that the film’s box office performance remains concentrated in its core Tamil market, while the Telugu version is providing additional support.
India net collection crosses Rs 60 crore
With the Day 13 earnings added, DC’s India net collection has reached Rs 60.31 crore.
Its India gross collection stands at Rs 69.44 crore.
The difference between the net and gross figures reflects taxes and other deductions that are excluded from the reported India net figure.
The film has also generated Rs 21.85 crore from overseas markets.
That takes its worldwide gross collection to Rs 91.29 crore.
The film is therefore within striking distance of the Rs 100 crore worldwide gross milestone, although its slowing daily collections mean the pace at which it reaches that figure will depend on its performance during the remainder of the theatrical run.
DC opened with Rs 4.4 crore
DC began its theatrical journey with an India net collection of approximately Rs 4.40 crore on Day 1.
The film then experienced strong growth during its opening weekend.
It earned Rs 7 crore on Day 2 before reaching Rs 9.55 crore on Day 3.
The third day remained the film’s strongest single day based on the reported figures.
The movie then recorded Rs 6 crore on Day 4.
Although earnings began to decline after the opening weekend, DC continued to add several crores each day during its first week.
Week 1 collection reaches Rs 41.9 crore
The film collected Rs 5.55 crore on Day 5 and Rs 5.25 crore on Day 6.
On Day 7, DC earned another Rs 4.15 crore.
These collections took the film’s first-week India net total to approximately Rs 41.90 crore.
The figure gave the film a reasonable foundation going into its second week.
However, maintaining the momentum from the first weekend became increasingly difficult as the film entered its second week.
Second week sees fluctuating collections
DC’s second week began with a collection of Rs 2.86 crore on Day 8.
The film then witnessed a noticeable jump on Day 9, earning Rs 5.50 crore.
Day 10 also remained strong, with the film collecting Rs 4.50 crore.
However, the momentum weakened sharply from Day 11 onwards.
The film earned Rs 2 crore on Day 11, followed by Rs 1.90 crore on Day 12.
Day 13 brought another decline to Rs 1.65 crore.
The pattern indicates that while the film continues to attract audiences, its weekday collections are now considerably lower than those recorded during the opening stages.
Day-wise box office performance
Based on the reported Sacnilk figures, DC’s India net collections through Day 13 are:
- Day 1: Rs 4.40 crore
- Day 2: Rs 7 crore
- Day 3: Rs 9.55 crore
- Day 4: Rs 6 crore
- Day 5: Rs 5.55 crore
- Day 6: Rs 5.25 crore
- Day 7: Rs 4.15 crore
- Day 8: Rs 2.86 crore
- Day 9: Rs 5.50 crore
- Day 10: Rs 4.50 crore
- Day 11: Rs 2 crore
- Day 12: Rs 1.90 crore
- Day 13: Rs 1.65 crore
The figures highlight the film’s strong opening weekend and the subsequent slowdown during its second week.
Weekend business will be important
With weekday earnings settling at relatively modest levels, the upcoming weekend could be important for DC.
Films often experience an increase in footfalls during Friday evening and over the weekend as audiences have more leisure time.
For DC, even a moderate weekend improvement could help the film strengthen its final theatrical total.
The film has already accumulated more than Rs 60 crore in India net collections, giving it a sizeable base.
Its worldwide gross of Rs 91.29 crore also puts the Rs 100 crore mark within reach.
However, the film’s future collections will depend on audience demand, competing releases and the number of screens and shows it retains.
Tamil Nadu remains crucial
As a Tamil-language film, DC’s performance in its home market remains particularly important.
The Day 13 figures show the Tamil version generating Rs 1.20 crore, significantly ahead of the Telugu and Hindi versions.
The Tamil occupancy of 21% across 1,457 shows indicates that the film continues to attract a meaningful audience despite being in its second week.
The Telugu market is also contributing steadily, with Rs 44 lakh from 655 shows.
The comparatively limited Hindi contribution suggests that the film’s box office strength continues to be concentrated in its southern markets.
About the film
DC is a Tamil romantic action drama directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner.
The film stars Lokesh Kanagaraj as Devadas and Wamiqa Gabbi as Chandra in the lead roles.
It was released in cinemas on August 7, 2026, in Tamil and Telugu.
The film combines romance and action, with its cast and director attracting significant interest ahead of its theatrical release.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s presence in the lead role has also been an important part of the film’s promotional appeal.
What the Day 13 numbers indicate
The latest figures suggest that DC is now entering the latter stages of its theatrical run with a slower daily collection rate.
The drop from Rs 1.90 crore on Day 12 to Rs 1.65 crore on Day 13 is not unexpected for a film in its second week, particularly during weekdays.
The more important indicator will be whether the film can generate a meaningful rise in collections over the next weekend.
With Rs 60.31 crore in India net earnings and Rs 91.29 crore worldwide gross, the film has already built a substantial theatrical total.
The question now is how much further it can travel before its run begins to wind down.
Rs 100 crore worldwide milestone in sight
DC’s worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 91.29 crore.
That leaves the film approximately Rs 8.71 crore short of Rs 100 crore.
If the film maintains reasonable collections through the coming days and receives a weekend boost, it could potentially move closer to the milestone.
However, box office estimates can change based on actual ticket sales, occupancy and show counts.
The current figures should therefore be treated as trade estimates rather than final audited numbers.
Conclusion
DC recorded another decline on its second Wednesday, earning an estimated Rs 1.65 crore in India net from 2,157 shows, according to Sacnilk. The film’s collection fell 13.2% from Rs 1.90 crore on Day 12.
Despite the weekday slowdown, the film has crossed Rs 60 crore in India net collections, reaching Rs 60.31 crore. Its India gross collection stands at Rs 69.44 crore, while overseas earnings of Rs 21.85 crore have taken its worldwide gross to Rs 91.29 crore.
The Tamil version remains the film’s strongest contributor, earning Rs 1.20 crore on Day 13, while the Telugu version added Rs 44 lakh and the Hindi version contributed Rs 1 lakh.
With the Rs 100 crore worldwide milestone less than Rs 9 crore away, the upcoming weekend could prove important for DC. The film’s final box office outcome will depend on whether it can stabilise its collections and attract another wave of audiences in its third week.
