- Cream – 1/2 cup
- Dry fruits – 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Ghee – 1 tablespoon
How to make Kalakand
step 1- To make Kalakand on the special occasion of Rakshabandhan, first take paneer and mawa and crush them well and mash them in a vessel. If you want, you can grate both the items first. After both the ingredients are mixed well, prepare the mixture by adding cream and milk to it. After this keep this mixture aside.
Step 2- Now take a pan and add ghee in it and heat it on medium flame. After the ghee melts, add the mixture prepared from mawa-paneer and let it cook. While cooking the mixture, stir it with the help of a ladle and fry it. When the mixture mixes well with milk and cream and the milk starts drying, add sugar as per taste and mix.
Step 3- After the milk in the mixture dries and the sugar melts, add cardamom powder and dry fruits to it and mix. After this, turn off the gas and let the kalakand mixture cool down. Now take a plate or tray and apply desi ghee on its bottom. After this, pour the kalakand mixture in a plate/tray and spread it evenly all around.
Step 4- Now keep this mixture aside for some time to set. When the mixture is set, cut it into equal sized squares or pieces of desired shape with the help of a knife. Your flavourful Kalakand sweet is ready. Sweeten the mouth of your guests and your brother with this sweet. If you want, you can also store Kalakand in an air-type container.
