Tata Motors has announced that the prices of its petrol, diesel, CNG and electric vehicles will increase from September 1. The special thing is that the prices of all Tata Motors vehicles will increase by up to ₹ 25,000 (ex-showroom). The company has attributed the increase in prices to rising input costs and persistent inflation.

Why did Tata increase the prices?
The reason for the increase in prices is the increasing cost of commodities (raw materials). Tata Motors reported a 4.5% increase in commodity costs in Q1FY27, and the company expects another 3% increase in it in Q2. This increase in prices will be applicable to all models of the company. Currently, Tata Motors' internal combustion engine (ICE) lineup includes the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Altroz, Nexon, Curve, Sierra, Harrier and Safari. Additionally, the company's electric vehicle portfolio continues to grow; Tata Motors currently has the largest electric car lineup in the Indian market.
Tata Motors sales in July?
Tata Punch was the company's best selling car in July, with 21,313 units sold. Nexon was the second best selling model, with 17,471 units sold. The July sales figures also include 7,429 units of Tiago and 6,327 units of Sierra. In July, 3,301 units of Harrier, 2,862 units of Altroz, 1,697 units of Curve, 1,453 units of Safari and 758 units of Tigor were sold. Tata sold a total of 62,611 units in July.
