Actor and entrepreneur Vivek Oberoi made a explosive start to his film career in 2002 with Ram Gopal Varma's film 'Company'. Recently, his father and veteran actor Suresh Oberoi has made many interesting revelations while remembering the days of struggle before his son's Bollywood debut.
Father Suresh Oberoi worked hard by going door to door
During an interview, Suresh Oberoi told that he had to struggle very hard to launch Vivek in films. He said that just as he used to carry his own photographs to get work in the initial days, similarly he had to wander from house to house carrying the photographs of his son Vivek.
At that time, director Ram Gopal Varma was looking for a new and powerful face for his film 'Company'. When he saw a recorded acting tape of Vivek, he was impressed by his performance and thus the doors of Bollywood opened for Vivek.
Vivek Oberoi's own tough struggle and rejection
On the other hand, Vivek Oberoi says that he has achieved this position on his own. In an old interview, Vivek had revealed that initially he had given auditions under the name 'Vivek Anand' without using his father's surname. They waited in long lines outside the production office for 6 to 10 hours.
Ram Gopal Varma had initially rejected him saying that he looked 'too polished' for the role in the film. After this, Vivek rented a room, got a new photoshoot done from a struggling photographer and went straight to Ram Gopal Varma's office in the same rough-and-tough look. His style completely convinced the director and he got that historic role.
