Lucknow, Read. The players displayed great sporting talent in the Inter Army Public Schools Central Command Girls Basketball Tournament 2026 held on 19 and 20 August at Army Public School, Nehru Road, Lucknow. Teams from APS Gorakhpur, APS Nehru Road Lucknow and APS Jabalpur participated in the two-day competition.
There was a tough competition between the players during the competition. Teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship made the event special. Nidhi Rathore, Principal of the host school, warmly welcomed all the teams.
Gorakhpur and Jabalpur dominate in semi-finals
In the first match played on 19 August, APS Gorakhpur defeated APS Nehru Road Lucknow by a huge margin of 44-04. In the second match, APS Jabalpur defeated the host Lucknow team by 33-16.
Gorakhpur won in the final
The final match of the tournament was played on 20 August. In this, APS Gorakhpur won the championship by defeating APS Jabalpur 42-15. APS Jabalpur team had to be content with runner-up.
The winning players were honored
In the closing ceremony, Principal Nidhi Rathore congratulated all the participating players for their performance. He honored the winning and runner-up teams. Certificates were also awarded to players who performed brilliantly.
The two-day competition concluded successfully, setting an example of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and healthy competition.
