Newborn babies born in government hospitals of the state will be given a pure gold ring as a gift from the government. The weight and purity (Carat/Hallmark) of each ring will be based on pre-determined standards so that they remain completely safe and comfortable for the delicate fingers of newborn babies. It will be directly linked to the database of birth records and Janani Suraksha Yojana in hospitals to keep the supply chain and distribution system transparent. A special kit will be handed over to the mothers immediately after delivery and under the gift scheme, this gold ring will be presented to the parents in a dignified manner by the hospital administration at the time of discharge after safe delivery in a government hospital.
