Supaul, Read Correspondent -: If the same officer who is responsible for providing seeds and fertilizers to the farmers at affordable prices fails to discharge his duties properly, then what should the poor farmers do? The fairness of the Agriculture Department's action regarding the irregularities and irregularities found in the fertilizer shop named Pooja Traders located in Tribeniganj Municipal Council of the district has now itself come under question. The fertilizer seller against whom the BAO had reported serious irregularities in the investigation, has now been given a clean chit by the pair to the District Agriculture Officer and the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer in the blink of an eye. Which has become a topic of discussion. The special thing is that questions are being raised on many points of the previous investigation report given by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Mukesh Kumar.
It is said that during the investigation, serious questions were raised regarding the licensed location of the shop and the actual place of operation. Despite this, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Mukesh Kumar says that the shopkeeper has shifted the shop to a suitable place. In such a situation, the question is arising that if the shop has now been shifted to the designated place, then who will be held responsible for the irregularity of operating the shop at another place instead of the place registered in the license for years?

Called his own officer's report false

The biggest question arising in the departmental action is that how there is a huge difference between the report of the investigating officer and the investigation of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer a few days later. If the investigation revealed huge differences in the shop's operating location and stock, the department should clarify in the subsequent report on what basis those points were considered correct.

Question on difference between POS and physical stock

It was revealed that there was a difference between the data recorded in the POS machine regarding the sale and stock of fertilizer and the fertilizer physically available in the shop. In such a situation, it is natural to raise the question that on what basis the situation of difference in stock was considered satisfactory. Was the difference properly reconciled? If it is done then why is its report not being made public? This question has now become a topic of discussion among farmers and people associated with fertilizer business.

How fake fertilizers became real

The questions raised in this case regarding the quality of fertilizer are no less serious. If any fertilizer was reported to be fake or suspicious, then where was the sample sent for testing and what was its report. In the event of any suspected fertilizer being declared genuine without quality check, it is natural to raise questions on the functioning of the department.

Old disputes of SAO also in discussion

The discussion of old disputes in departmental circles regarding the tenure of Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer has also intensified. According to sources, the role of the officer was also in the news for not taking action despite a complaint against an alleged illegal fertilizer shop in Hariharpatti, Prakhad on May 3 last year. It is being said that there were controversies being discussed regarding his tenure in Udakishunganj during his previous posting.
When the District Agriculture Officer was asked about the matter, the vague answer given was also giving rise to many questions. If the department considers the entire action as legal, then it should make it clear on what basis each point raised in the investigation was resolved and at which level the officer took the decision to give clean chit to the accused shopkeeper. Now the question is whether the department will conduct an impartial investigation of the entire matter and make public the documents to the licensed site, actual shop, POS records, physical stock and quality check of fertilizer or will the matter remain buried in the departmental files?
