Warriors may still land Anthony Davis under one condition

The Golden State Warriors ended up empty-handed in their pursuit of LeBron James.

General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. claims the team is aggressively working the phones to land a star, but to no avail yet.

However, that can always change at some point in the season, once other teams are more willing to part ways with their disgruntled stars.

And according to Sports Illustrated’s Blake Silverman, they could still keep tabs on Anthony Davis’ situation in the nation’s capital.

The Warriors could trade for Anthony Davis, but not now

Davis will reportedly give the Wizards an opportunity to prove that they can compete before signing a contract extension.

If they don’t endear themselves to him, the Warriors could swoop right in and get him to the Bay Area:

The Warriors reportedly inquired about Davis when they were trying to lure LeBron, as getting him back with his former Lakers teammate would’ve propelled their championship aspirations.

They didn’t get James, but getting their hands on the best two-way big man of his generation doesn’t sound too bad.

Still, it looks like they’ll have to wait.
