New Delhi: Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant on Monday (August 24) raised concerns over the judicial service examination. He asked whether the exam was also conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, adding, "Out of anxiety, we have to ask...
Anyway, we are more worried about that part." The CJI made these remarks while hearing a petition seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025.. Meanwhile, the SC bench, comprsing the CJI and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana, issued a notice to the Centre, the Jharkhand government and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission while hearing the petition. The petition, filed by social activist Harisharan Devgan. also sought cancellation of the April 19 exam and preservation of all examination records. Notably, the Centre, JPSC, Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, State of Jharkhand, CBI and DGP Jharkhand have been arraigned as respondents in the petition. Devgan was represented by SC advocate Satyam Singh Rajpoot. The Supreme Court's notice comes amid allegations surrounding the conduct of the JPSC Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025.
