Delhi Rain: Monsoon has once again reached its full glory in the country's national capital Delhi. It is raining heavily in Delhi-NCR since morning. Due to heavy rain in Delhi, 14 flights have been diverted. Whereas there is more than 100 late. At the same time, torrential rains have caused waterlogging in many areas. People are facing inconvenience due to water logging in many areas. Traffic is slowing down due to blocked roads. Due to heavy rains, many areas including Sangam Vihar, Durga Vihar and Connaught Place have been flooded by 3-4 feet of water.

Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR has also affected air travel. 14 flights have been diverted. These also include two international flights. 12 flights were diverted to Jaipur, 2 to Chandigarh and one flight to Lucknow. At the same time, 250 flights are late. As many as 150 flights were delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport till around 1:15 pm. At present the average delay of flights at the airport is about 27 minutes.

Here, due to heavy rains, there has been waterlogging at many places. Traffic has been affected due to this. Water has accumulated in a parking lot of Connaught Place. Delhi's Zakhira underpass is flooded. The road to Sangam Vihar has been submerged. Due to rain, there is water logging under Shivaji Bridge. Due to heavy rains, areas like Ashok Nagar Metro Station, Burari, CR Park and Alaknanda have been flooded. There were long traffic jams on the roads due to waterlogging at many places. There is also a huge jam on the road leading from ITO to Ajmeri Gate of New Delhi Railway Station. 67 mm rainfall has been recorded in Janakpuri, 52 in Gurugram, 57 in Chhatarpur, 35 in Pitampura and 29 mm of rain has been recorded in Safdarjung till 1:15 pm.

There may be a big drop in temperature

The maximum temperature in Delhi today i.e. on 24th August is 33 degrees Celsius. By this evening the minimum temperature may remain up to 27 degrees Celsius. However, after the heavy rain today, it is expected that there may be a big drop in the temperature.

Red alert issued
Here, India Meteorological Department i.e. IMD issued a red alert for some districts and warned that there may be more heavy rains during the day. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain along with thunderstorm, lightning and wind speed of 30-40 km/hr in some areas of South-East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahdara, Central Delhi, North-East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South-West Delhi, West Delhi, North-West Delhi and North Delhi.
