Lucknow: The anger of the youth was seen on the streets demanding recruitment of librarian in Uttar Pradesh. A large number of candidates in the capital Lucknow They surrounded the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and demanded to start the recruitment process. The protesting youth said that there has been no recruitment on the posts of librarian for a long time and since the year 2016, the problems of the candidates waiting for new recruitment are increasing continuously. The youth raised the demand from the government to clarify the number of vacant posts and start the recruitment process soon.
The protesting candidates said that due to non-recruitment to the posts of librarian, a large number of qualified youth have been preparing for competitive examinations for years, but they are not getting employment opportunities. They allege that despite the posts of librarians being vacant in departments and educational institutions, the recruitment process is not being taken forward.
During the demonstration of the youth, the government was demanded to release recruitment advertisement immediately. The candidates said that they have prepared for government jobs for years after acquiring library science and educational qualifications. With increasing age, the number of opportunities in front of them is also decreasing. In such a situation, it is necessary to start the long pending recruitment soon.
The protesters also said that if a large number of posts are vacant in the department, then regular assessment of them should be done and the recruitment process should be started. The youth argue that trained librarians are required to strengthen the library system in government institutions. Students may also have to face problems due to vacant posts.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak listened to the demands of the protesting youth and Gave assurance of finding a solution to the problem. He assured the candidates that their demand will be considered at the relevant level and efforts will be made to take necessary steps in the matter to recruitment.
After the assurance of the Deputy CM, the protesting youth are hopeful that the government will soon take a concrete decision regarding the long pending recruitment process. However, the main demand of the candidates is that the matter should not be limited to mere assurances, but an official program of recruitment should be released.
Regarding librarian recruitment, candidates say that they are waiting for new recruitment since the year 2016. Due to the long gap, resentment is increasing among the youth preparing for recruitment. There are many candidates who have prepared for different competitive examinations for years, but due to non-availability of regular vacancies on the respective posts, they could not get the opportunity.
Candidates say that the long gap in government recruitment directly impacts the career of the youth. On one hand, they keep preparing for the exam continuously, while on the other hand, due to lack of recruitment, their age increases. In such a situation, the government should calculate the vacant posts and proceed with the process under the regular recruitment calendar.
During the demonstration, the youth also raised slogans regarding their demands. He said that recruitment to the posts of librarian is not only an issue of employment, but is also to strengthening the library system in government schools, colleges and other educational institutions.
Library is an important center of study and reference material for students. Along with books, materials to competitive examinations, research and educational activities are available here. Therefore, trained staff are required to maintain the library system smoothly.
Candidates say that if the posts are vacant for a long time then the government should make public the information about department wise vacancies. This will make it clear to the candidates how many posts are vacant and in which departments or institutions librarians are required.
Another effect of delay in the recruitment process is that the youth trained in the relevant subject have to go towards the private sector or other employment options. Many candidates have spent years preparing for government jobs and now they are looking forward to the start of the recruitment process.
The protesters demand that the government set a fixed deadline. This should include the entire process from assessment of vacant posts, sending requisition, issuing recruitment advertisement, application process, examination and appointment. This can provide relief to the candidates from uncertainty.
After getting assurance of solution from Brajesh Pathak, now the candidates are eyeing the next step of the government. If the recruitment process is started by taking the details of vacant posts from the concerned departments, then the youth who have been preparing for a long time can get great relief.
The youth say that they want to convey their demands to the government in a peaceful manner. Their only objective is to take forward the recruitment process which has been pending for years and deserving candidates get an opportunity to join government service on the basis of their merit.
This demonstration outside the Deputy CM residence in Lucknow has once again brought to light the concerns of the youth regarding the long gap in government recruitments and the recruitment calendar. The hopes of the candidates now rest on the next action taken by the government.
At present, the biggest question is that by when will the government clear the way for new recruitment for the librarian candidates who have been waiting for recruitment since 2016. The assurance of the Deputy Chief Minister has definitely given hope to the protesters, but the youth are demanding that the official advertisement for recruitment should be released soon and the data of vacant posts should be released. This will provide employment opportunities to the candidates who have been preparing for years and will also strengthen the library system in government institutions.
