Weather 26 August: Alert of torrential rain in 23 states today

New Delhi. Weather 26 August 2026: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a scary warning amid monsoon rains. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is going to be a big change in the weather from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. Along with rain, there is also an alert of storm. People of 23 states may have to face torrential rains. Not only this, winds are also expected to blow at a speed of 80 Kmph. In such a situation, people have been appealed to remain alert.

During heavy rains and strong winds, tree branches can break and fall on anyone. Do not stand under trees during this rain. If you are planning to go out somewhere, then definitely get an update on the weather, because there is a risk of reduced visibility while driving. A warning has also been issued for fishermen, because going into the sea in such weather can be dangerous. Storms can harm fishermen.

low pressure area
A low pressure area is forming in Jharkhand and its surrounding areas. This pressure area was present around the Ganga plains and northern Odisha till a day ago. Now it will not only cause rain in Jharkhand, but will also cause heavy rain in some areas of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. From here this low pressure area will move in the west-northwest direction. There is an alert of heavy rain for the next 3 days in UP and Bihar.

cyclonic circulation also formed
The western edge of the monsoon trough is north of its normal position. At the same time, the eastern end and the middle tropospheric layer are near their normal position. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation of upper air persists over Assam and surrounding states of the North-East at the lower tropospheric level. This level exists as a western disturbance trough north of 28 N along longitude 70 E.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of torrential rain across 23 states on August 26. These states include Delhi, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Eastern Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Meghalaya, Southern, Interior and Coastal parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry.

Delhi NCR
Delhi (August 25- Torrential rain alert): Delhi is going to be drenched tomorrow. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain in Delhi tomorrow i.e. 26 August 2026. These rains are likely to occur in Central Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, Shahdara, South Delhi, South East Delhi, South West Delhi and West Delhi. Tomorrow the maximum temperature of Delhi can be 34 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature can be 28 degree Celsius. Winds can blow at a speed of 40 Kmph.

Uttar Pradesh
UP (26 August- Stormy rain alert): Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Baghpat, Ballia, Banda, Basti, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Deoria, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kushinagar, Mahoba, Mau, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Pratapgarh, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shamli, Sultanpur and There is a warning of heavy rain in Varanasi. During this period, wind may blow at a speed of 60 to 65 kilometers per hour at some places. Tomorrow the maximum temperature of Lucknow can be 31 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature can be 27 degree Celsius.

Bihar
Bihar (26 August – Thunderstorm warning): There is an alert of thunderstorm along with rain in Purnia, Jehanabad, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Vaishali, Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Begusarai, Siwan and Buxar. During this period, wind can blow at a speed of 80 Kmph. In Patna tomorrow i.e. on 26th August, the maximum temperature is expected to be 32 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 27 degree Celsius.

Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh (August 26 – Heavy rain warning): There is a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Chhatarpur, Datia, Gwalior, Niwari, Panna, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli and Tikamgarh. Wind can blow at a speed of 50 to 55 kilometers. In Bhopal tomorrow i.e. on 26 August 2026, the maximum temperature can be 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be 24 degrees Celsius.

Rajasthan
Rajasthan (26 August – Storm and rain warning): Churu, Pali, Baran, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Sriganganagar, Karauli, Deeg, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Balotra, Kota, Hanumangarh and Bharatpur may receive rain as well as storm. In some districts, wind can blow at a speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature in Jaipur tomorrow i.e. on 26 August 2026 will be 34 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature can reach 27 degrees Celsius.

Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand (26 August- Storm-Rain Alert): There is a warning of heavy rain in Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Tehri Garhwal. During this period, wind can blow at a speed of 55 Kmph. In Dehradun tomorrow i.e. on 26 August 2026, the maximum temperature is likely to be 29 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 24 degrees Celsius.

Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh (August 26 – Heavy rain warning): There is a possibility of heavy rain in Solan, Kangra, Una, Lahaul Spiti, Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Bilaspur. Winds can blow at a speed of 55 to 60 Kmph in these districts. The maximum temperature in Shimla tomorrow i.e. on 26 August 2026 is expected to be 26 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 19 degrees Celsius.
