The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited direct applications for various posts under the Government of India. A notification has been issued for this purpose, specifically inviting online applications for 80 posts of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC) in the EPFO ​​under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The notification states that the application process began on August 22, and eligible candidates can apply via the official UPSC website until 6:00 PM on September 11, 2026. The recruitment examination for the APFC posts is scheduled for December 20, 2026.

Scheduled Castes (SC): 15 posts
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 10 posts
Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 8 posts
Out of the total vacancies, 3 seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

**Salary Details:**
The notification specifies that these posts fall under Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission; salaries and allowances will be provided accordingly. This is a permanent position classified under the Central Board Group 'A' (Non-Ministerial) category.

**Required Qualifications:**
Regarding educational qualifications, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates possessing a diploma in Company Law, Labour Law, or Public Administration.

**Age Limits:**
General Category: Maximum 35 years
OBC: 38 years
ST Candidates: 40 years
A relaxation of up to 10 years is provided for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

**Selection Process:**
UPSC will conduct a pen-and-paper-based test to shortlist candidates for the interview. Candidates who qualify in this test will be eligible to appear directly for the interview. The written examination will be of two hours' duration and will consist of objective-type (MCQ) questions in both Hindi and English. There will be negative marking as well. The recruitment test will carry 300 marks, and the interview will carry 100 marks.
