Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has ended Jasprit Bumrah's reign in the Test rankings. In the latest rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Starc has become the world's number-1 Test bowler. He has topped the Test rankings for the first time in his 15-year long international career by taking 10 wickets against Bangladesh in the Mackay Test. Bumrah, who was out of the Test series against Sri Lanka due to injury, has slipped to second place.

Bumrah became world number-1 in February 2024. He maintained his reign for almost two years but Stark made a stormy protest and snatched his chair. Bumrah is second, while New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry has slipped to third place. Australian captain Pat Cummins took 6 wickets in the Mackay Test against Bangladesh. He has moved up one place to fourth place. Nathan Lyon has entered the top-10 by jumping two places.

Rishabh Pant reached top-10

Team India's wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant played a explosive half-century in the second innings of the Galle Test against Sri Lanka. He had scored 66 runs in 69 balls. Thanks to this innings, he has jumped six places in the Test ranking of batsmen. Pant has reached joint seventh position. Indian captain Shubman Gill is also at number seven.

Indian opener KL Rahul has climbed five places to reach 30th position. There has been no change at the top of the rankings for Test batsmen. Harry Brook of England remains at number-1.
