The remaining two teams for the semi-finals of Duleep Trophy 2026 have been decided. East Zone defeated North-East Zone by an innings and 210 runs to reach the semi-finals. It will face defending champion Central Zone. On the other hand, North Zone has defeated West Zone by 52 runs and entered the last-4, where it will face the challenge of South Zone.
Central Zone and South Zone had played the final of Duleep Trophy last year. In such a situation, both these teams are playing direct semi-finals. Whereas East and North had to play quarter-finals. The East Zone team included star players like Ishan Kishan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Mohammed Shami, Mukesh Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed. The team easily defeated the challenge of North-East Zone. Whereas North Zone defeated the strong team of West Zone.
Will Vaibhav's bat speak in the semi-finals?
Young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been made the vice-captain of East Zone. However, his performance with the bat was not good. He could score only 8 runs playing 6 balls. The East Zone team defeated North-East by an innings margin. In such a situation, Vaibhav did not get a chance to bat in the second innings. He definitely did wonders with the ball and took 2 wickets. Vaibhav will be desperate to play big innings in the semi-finals. Let us know what is the schedule of the semi-finals.
Vaibhav will be seen in action on this day
The semi-final matches of Duleep Trophy are to be played from August 30. Vaibhav's North Zone team will face Central Zone at Ground-1 of BCCI's Center of Excellence (CoE). The match between North Zone and South Zone will be played on CoE Ground-2.
