Automobile Desk – Renault India Upcoming Cars: French car manufacturer Renault has geared up to re-strengthen its hold in the Indian automobile market. The company has prepared a big roadmap for the Indian market under its 'FutureReady' global strategy. Under this plan, Renault is preparing to introduce 4 new models in India by 2027. The special thing is that these cars will not be limited to only traditional petrol engines, but they will also have CNG, Hybrid and Electric (EV) powertrain options.

Renault has lined up a total of 7 new models and two all-new platforms for India. Amidst the discussions about the new generation Duster, the company is now focusing on strengthening its position in different segments in the coming years.

Duster Hybrid: May knock by Diwali 2026

The biggest news for Duster lovers is its hybrid avatar. Renault may launch its new-generation Duster Hybrid on the road around the festive season of 2026 i.e. Diwali. It will use the company's patented 'E-Tech' hybrid technology, which is inspired by Renault's Formula 1 racing experiences. This car will have a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which will be connected to two electric motors and a battery pack with 1.4kWh capacity. This setup will be capable of producing around 160bhp of power and 172Nm of torque, making it a powerful and mileage-friendly option in its segment.

7-Seater Duster for big family

Along with the 5-seater Duster, the company is also working rapidly on its 7-seater version. This 3-row SUV will be based on the same platform on which the 5-seater model is built. There will be a lot of similarity in its interior, features and mechanical components. However, its overall length will be increased to provide better legroom and comfort to the third row passengers. This model will directly target buyers who are looking for a sturdy and spacious family car.

New SUV 'Bridger' will enter the sub-4 meter segment

Keeping in view the increasing demand of compact SUV segment, Renault is bringing a new sub-4 meter car, which can be named 'Bridger'. This car, being prepared especially for emerging markets like India, will be built on the R-GMP platform. Along with petrol, hybrid and fully electric (EV) options can be found in it. The Kiger engine is likely to be used in its petrol variant. Talking about looks, its design will be a bit boxy and muscular, which will give it a different identity on the road.

Renault Kwid will come in a new avatar

Renault is also planning to re-introduce its entry-level hatchback Kwid. Testing of its new model has started on Indian roads and it can be launched in the market by the end of 2027. The design of the new Kwid will be very similar to the Kwid E-Tech sold globally. It will include features like new front grille, re-designed bumper, new headlamps and modern TFT digital instrument cluster in the interior.

This new product portfolio of Renault makes it clear that the company is all set to attract every segment of customers in the Indian car market, from budget hatchbacks to premium hybrid SUVs.
