Bihar Flood Alert: Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary today held a high-level review meeting in 'Sankalp' auditorium located at Lok Sevak Awas in view of the situation of flash flood in the upper catchment area of ​​Nepal and the possibility of sudden increase in water flow in Gandak River. The Chief Minister directed to take special vigilance in the concerned districts of Bihar and complete all necessary preparations.

Instructions to constantly keep an eye on sensitive districts

The Chief Minister said that in view of the developing situation in Nepal, the areas with possible impact in Bihar should be continuously monitored. Especially in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali and other sensitive districts to Gandak River, the administration remained fully alert. The Chief Minister directed the officers to remain in full alert mode. He said that the situation of water coming due to floods in Nepal should be continuously monitored and special caution should be taken in potentially affected and sensitive areas.

Safety of embankments and dams top priority

The Chief Minister directed that by giving top priority to the safety of all embankments and dams, they should be continuously monitored. Along with ensuring the strength of the embankments, necessary action should be taken immediately on any weak part. He directed to conduct special night patrolling on dams and embankments even at night.

People should be warned through loudspeaker

The Chief Minister said that in sensitive and affected areas, the local administration should continuously give necessary information and warning of possible danger to the people through loudspeaker/mic so that people can be taken to safe places in time. Keep NDRF and SDRF teams deployed to deal with any emergency. The concerned district administration should coordinate with these teams and ensure immediate relief and rescue work as per requirement.

There should be no negligence in relief and rescue

The Chief Minister directed the officials to continuously monitor the situation and the administrative and technical teams should remain fully active. In any adverse situation, the safety of people will be the top priority and there should be no negligence in relief and rescue work.
