Talking about the cost of this drug, Revolution Medicines has priced a 30-day dose of 'Rasonk' pill at USD 39,800 (approximately Rs. 38 lakh). Although this cost is prohibitive in the eyes of the general public, the research and development of these sophisticated 'targeted therapies' that precisely target cancer cells is a very expensive process. However, the company has clarified that it has announced a special collaboration and financial assistance program ('ONPath Program') to make the drug available to economically weaker and needy patients, which will help more patients get access to the drug at affordable rates.

The experiences of patients who actually use this pill are also very positive. 88-year-old Barbara Andes, who lives in California, USA, is fighting pancreatic cancer. He underwent a grueling chemotherapy treatment for a consecutive year. But, in the month of July, he started the dose of this new 'Rasonk' pill. Narrating his experience, he mentioned that the pill has greatly reduced his severe nausea and persistent weakness. It usually takes a long period of 10 to 12 months for any new cancer drug to be approved by the FDA. But, considering the amazing results of this drug and the urgency of pancreatic cancer treatment, the FDA approved this pill in just 1 to 2 months through its new 'Fast-Track / National Priority' review process (Priority Review). According to financial analysts, the company's revenue is likely to reach $28 million in the third quarter of the current year due to the approval of this drug and increasing demand in the market. So in the long run this drug could do $11.5 billion business worldwide. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 67,350 new patients will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year in the United States alone.
