According to the police, Ruby and Neeraj reached the hotel on Tuesday morning. Both had taken a room in the hotel. The investigation revealed that there was a love affair between the two. Ruby was married in Bhagwatipur village of Jhajjar district.
There was a dispute between the two in the hotel room
According to preliminary investigation, after staying in the room for some time, an argument broke out between Ruby and Neeraj over some issue. It is alleged that in the meantime, Neeraj strangled Ruby with a pick. Ruby is suspected to have died after that.
Neeraj left the room after the incident. He is said to have told the hotel staff to return after some time. However, he did not return.
The hotel staff got suspicious and informed the police
The hotel staff became suspicious as Neeraj did not return after a long time and no movement was heard from the room. The staff knocked on the door of the room, but there was no answer from inside. The police were then informed.
Police reached the spot and when the room was opened, Ruby was found dead inside. In the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that she was killed by strangulation. However, the exact cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report.
Police checked hotel registers and CCTV footage
A team of FSL was also called to the spot after learning about the incident. The team has checked the hotel room and collected necessary evidence. Police are also examining hotel registers and CCTV footage.
Now the main question before the police is what was the dispute between Ruby and Neeraj in the room and how did the matter lead to the murder. Whether the killing was sudden or premeditated is also under investigation.
The accused tried to commit suicide
According to the police, Neeraj reached his home after leaving the hotel. There he tried to commit suicide by hanging. He was taken to the hospital on time after the family was informed. Currently, his condition is said to be critical.
The truth will come out after the postmortem and investigation
Ruby’s body has been sent to PGI for postmortem. Police will take further action based on family statement, postmortem report, CCTV footage and FSL investigation.
