Satellite images have revealed the extraordinary scale of destruction caused by the Nepal-Tibet flash floods, showing parts of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing virtually erased. The disaster has destroyed roads, villages and infrastructure along the Trishuli River corridor. Latest reports put the combined toll at 392 dead and 1,468 missing.

Kathmandu: The devastating Nepal-Tibet flash floods have claimed at least 469 lives and left over 1,468 people missing, destroying villages, roads and hydropower infrastructure in their path.

Satellite images show devastation

Shocking catastrophic images from Vantor Satellite Imagery show the extraordinary scale of destruction along a roughly 10-mile swath of the Trishuli River stretching south from the northern border with China.

The visuals show the Rasuwagadhi border post on the Nepal-China border, on April 19, 2024, and after the devastating flood. The entire structure appeared to have been washed out by the flood, with hardly any evidence of what once existed at the border.
