The league-phase draw for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League was held on Thursday in Monaco, with Germany’s clubs learning the opponents they will meet in the next edition of Europe’s top club competition. Bayern Munich have been drawn to play Arsenal at home, a side they know well. The two teams also met in last season’s league phase, when Arsenal won 3-1, while in the 2023/24 campaign Bayern eliminated The Gunners in the quarter-finals. Bayern will also travel to face Atletico Madrid and Manchester United, two matches that promise to be high-quality contests against major opposition. The remaining fixtures for the German record champions are against Real Betis (H), FK Bodo/Glimt (H), Lille (A), SK Slavia Prague (H), and competition debutants Viking of Norway (A).

Borussia Dortmund will be aiming for a stronger run than last season, when Atalanta knocked them out in the last 32. The Black and Yellows will host Inter, while away trips to English sides Arsenal and Aston Villa also await them. They are also set to play La Liga teams Villarreal and Real Betis at home. Like Bayern, BVB will also take on Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt (A). AEK Athens (H) and Azerbaijan’s Sabah (A) complete the list of opponents for Niko Kovac’s team.

RB Leipzig have been handed a demanding draw, with Manchester City (H), Real Madrid (A), and Manchester United (A) among their opponents. Even so, they will believe they can get results against debutants Como (A), RC Lens (H), Shakhtar Donetsk (H), PSV (H), and Feyenoord (A).

Stuttgart appear to have received a relatively favourable draw. Although the Swabians will host Atletico Madrid and travel to Inter, they will be hopeful of picking up points against the rest of the sides in their section. Club Brugge (H), PSV Eindhoven (A), Galatasaray (A), LOSC Lille (H), Viking Stavanger (H), and Slovan Bratislava (A) complete the list of opponents the German club will face.
