New Delhi. Penguin Random House India has refused to publish senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's book 'Belonging: A Journey of Love' in India. According to media reports, Penguin India had asked for some editorial changes in a part of this book but Sonia Gandhi was not ready for these changes and that is why the publication said that it will no longer publish this book in India. This book contains memoirs to Sonia Gandhi's coming to India, her marriage with Rajiv Gandhi and her political life.
After the withdrawal of Penguin Random House India, there is now talk that HarperCollins India is ready to publish and distribute this book of Sonia Gandhi and a final decision in this regard may be taken soon. The release date of this book was announced as 10 November. First of all, America-based publishing house Alfred A. Knopf, which is a part of Penguin Random House, had said that one lakh copies of this book would be printed in the first printing. People associated with Sonia Gandhi's book 'Belonging: A Journey of Love' say that this book contains personal and detailed versions of events to her life.
However, Sonia Gandhi has already written many books and edited some. Sonia Gandhi's first book Rajiv in which she has mentioned the memoirs of her late husband Rajiv Gandhi's life, politics and till his assassination. The book Rajiv's World compiled by Sonia Gandhi is a collection of rare photographs taken by Rajiv Gandhi. The book Freedom's Daughter, edited by Sonia Gandhi, is a compilation of letters of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi between 1922 and 1939. In the book Too Alone, Too Together, Sonia Gandhi has edited and collected the historical and personal correspondence between Nehru and Indira from 1922 to 1964.
