If LPG cylinder is used in your house, then this news is very important for you. Amidst the ongoing tension around the world and problems in gas supply at the international level, public sector petroleum companies have made some major changes in the rules.
If you are thinking of getting a new gas connection or the KYC process of your old connection is not complete, then both your kitchen budget and cylinder delivery may be affected. Let us know what is the latest decision of the gas companies and what effect it will have on the common man.
Can your gas connection really be switched off?
If your Aadhaar and biometric e-KYC (e-KYC) is not complete, the connection may result in a temporary stoppage of cylinder delivery. Gas companies are currently running a big campaign to remove fake and long unused connections from the system.
If your connection was closed for a long time or you have not yet got the verification done, then immediately contact your nearest gas agency Go to (Gas Agency) and get it completed. The entire focus of petroleum companies is currently focused on providing uninterrupted gas refills only to existing legitimate customers.
Currently there is a ban on new 14.2 kg domestic connections
If you buy a new one of 14.2 kg domestic cylinder If you are trying to get a (Domestic Cylinder) connection, then you will have to wait for a while. All major oil marketing companies have placed a temporary hold on issuing new 14.2 kg connections.
According to the Petroleum Ministry, the process of new domestic connections will be restarted only after global conditions become normal. At present, companies are giving cylinders only to those old customers who already have an active and verified connection.
What to do if new connection is not available?
If you have recently shifted to a new city, live in a rented house or urgently need cooking gas for the family, then there is no need to worry. Oil companies have introduced two great options for the convenience of customers:
- 10 kg composite FTL cylinder: It is a very light, safe and transparent cylinder, in which the gas level is visible from outside only. In major cities it can be booked instantly without lengthy paperwork.
- 5 kg small cylinder: 5 kg cylinder is easily available for small families, students and people living alone, whose home delivery is also quick.
Why did this problem arise in gas supply?
India imports about 60% of its total LPG consumption from outside. a large part of this import strait of hormuz It used to come from the Middle East through the sea route of the Strait of Hormuz, where the movement of merchant ships has been affected due to strategic tensions.
To meet domestic demand, India has purchased LPG and LPG from America. lng (LNG) import has increased. It takes more time and cost to bring goods from America by sea route, hence the government is managing the domestic supply very carefully so that active customers do not face any shortage.
If you have received a verification message from your gas agency, go to the nearest distributor with your gas passbook and Aadhaar card and complete the biometric e-KYC process as soon as possible.
