Bank Holiday 29 August 2026: During festivals, people often remain confused whether the bank is open today or not. Today, banks were closed in many states on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Bank branches were closed in Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Kerala as well as Uttar Pradesh. Apart from these, all bank services were functioning normally in the remaining states. Now tomorrow is Saturday, hence the question running in the minds of many customers is whether the banks are closed tomorrow.

However, sometimes banks remain closed on Saturdays. If you are also thinking of completing any work in your bank, then it is important to check the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and then go to the bank.

According to the holiday calendar of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), tomorrow is the fifth Saturday of the month, hence banks are not closed but are open. Tomorrow all government and private banks like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, State Bank as well as Corporation Bank etc. will remain open tomorrow.

Banks are closed in many places today due to local or regional festivals. Rakshabandhan itself is not the reason behind this. Banks were closed on 29 August due to many festivals like Shri Narayana Guru Jayanti and Ayyankali Jayanti etc.
