Fiorentina have still not completed the sale of Moise Kean to Como, and they have also not yet settled terms with Manchester United for Joshua Zirkzee, so reports claim they have now made an enquiry to Everton for Beto instead.
La Viola are expected to accept Como’s offer for Kean, with the striker pushing strongly for a move away to a club playing in the Champions League, but Fiorentina first need to bring in a replacement.
A basic agreement is already in place for €35m plus a further €5m in add-ons, though talks are continuing over the conditions required for those bonuses to be triggered.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sport Mediaset and Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina are still waiting for Manchester United to give the green light for Zirkzee.
The proposed formula would be a paid loan worth €5m, with an option to buy at the end of the season, but the Premier League club remain unconvinced. At the same time, the former Bologna forward is still hoping Juventus will step in with an improved offer.
Manchester United would rather sanction a permanent transfer, or at the very least include an obligation to buy the Dutch striker.
With that situation still unresolved, it is being reported that Fiorentina are keeping their options open by making a fresh move for Everton centre-forward Beto.
Like Zirkzee, Beto is already familiar with Serie A, having played for Udinese from 2021 to 2023 before being sold to Everton for €25m plus bonuses.
The 28-year-old managed 10 goals and one assist in 40 competitive appearances for Everton last season.
