Manchester City have completed the signing of highly rated Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille on a five-year contract. The 18-year-old midfielder arrives at the Etihad Stadium as one of the most exciting young talents in world football.

Manchester City have finalised the transfer of Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi from French club Lille on a five-year deal. The 18-year-old midfielder has signed terms that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, subject to international clearance. Bouaddi joins the Premier League side as one of the brightest young players in the game, having already made 96 senior appearances for Lille and won eight caps for his country.

Speaking after completing the move, Bouaddi said he was immensely proud and delighted to join what he considers the best club in the world. He also pointed to the winning culture at the Etihad Stadium and his desire to improve under manager Enzo Maresca.

"This is a very special day for me and my family," Bouaddi said. "Manchester City are, for me, the best Club in the world. It’s a dream to be here and be able to call myself a City player. I’ve watched City for many years, and I love their style of play. The squad is world-class and Enzo is a top manager."

Bouaddi's standing rose even further during the recent World Cup, where he impressed in midfield for Morocco and drew attention with a masterclass display against Brazil. Director of Football Hugo Viana hailed the teenager's exceptional football intelligence and potential, while confirming that City had been monitoring his rapid progress closely.

"Ayyoub’s potential is extremely high - a player equipped with everything a top midfielder needs. At just 18, he already has outstanding football intelligence and that will only improve under the guidance of Enzo," Viana said.

After becoming a key figure at Lille and helping the club return to the Champions League last season, Bouaddi now appears set for the next stage of his career. Under the guidance of Maresca and his coaching staff, the elegant, ball-playing midfielder will aim to take his game to another level.
