The biggest problem for glasses wearers is the accumulation of dust, fingerprints or oil on the lenses. Foggy glasses not only cause difficulty in seeing but also put strain on the eyes which can lead to headache. In such a situation, people use the corner of their shirt or handkerchief to clean dirty underwear and this is also a common habit. But this can cause permanent scratches on the lens. If you are also troubled by dirty glasses, then here are the easy and effective tips. By adopting this method you can make your glasses shine like new.

1. The magic of lukewarm water and dish soap

This is the safest and most effective way to remove oil, sweat and dust from glasses. First of all wash your hands thoroughly. Now put a small drop of mild dish soap on both the lenses of the glasses. Rub it gently with your fingers and then wash it with lukewarm water. Keep in mind that the water should not be too hot otherwise the coating of the lens may get damaged. Let it dry after washing.

2. Use of microfiber cloth
Most people clean glasses with tissue paper, towels, or their T-shirts. These materials may feel soft to the touch, but their tiny fibers can scratch the lens. To wipe the glasses, always use the ‘microfiber cloth’ found in its box. This is a special type of cloth that cleans the lens deeply without leaving any scratches.

3. Make your own lens cleaning spray at home
If you are traveling and it is not possible to wash glasses with soap and water, you can make your own homemade cleaning spray. Mix 3 parts rubbing alcohol and 1 part water in a small spray bottle. Just add one drop of dish soap to it. Whenever the glasses seem dirty, spray them and wipe them with a microfiber cloth. Your glasses will shine instantly.

4. White Vinegar for Stubborn Stains
Sometimes stubborn stains of water drops or old fogging get accumulated on the lens. White vinegar is a great home remedy to remove it. For this, mix equal quantity of water and white vinegar in a bowl. Now slightly soak a soft microfiber cloth in this mixture and clean the lens with gentle hands. Vinegar makes the glasses shine like glass without any chemical damage.

5. Cotton buds for cleaning edges
We clean the lenses, but months of dust and sweat accumulate in the edges between the frame and the lens. Use cotton buds to clean it. Lightly moisten it and move it around the edges of the frame. All the hidden dirt will come out and your entire glasses will look brand new.
