2027 Kawasaki Versys 650: Kawasaki has launched the 2027 model of its famous bike Versys 650 in India. Its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 8.63 lakh. However, no major mechanical changes have been made in the new model. This time the company has introduced the bike in a new color. The new Candy Lime Green paint scheme is the biggest highlight of this model. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of August 2026.

What changed apart from the new color?

The 2027 Versys 650 is currently offered only in Candy Lime Green color. This color gives a new look to the green color associated with Kawasaki's identity. The rest of the design of the bike has remained the same. There is no change in engine, frame, suspension, electronics and features. That means, if you want a new model year bike and like the new green shade of Kawasaki, then this update can be special for you.

649cc engine gives power of 67 hp

Kawasaki Versys 650 has the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine as before. This engine produces 67 hp power at 8,500 rpm and 61 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is provided with the engine. The bike also gets assist-and-slipper clutch. This clutch helps in making the riding a little easier and smoother while changing gears.

ready for long distance travel

Versys 650 has been specially designed keeping long journeys and touring in mind. It has a tubular diamond frame. Talking about suspension, a 41mm telescopic fork is available at the front, which has a travel of 150mm. A monoshock is provided at the rear, which has 145mm travel. The rear suspension also has a remote preload adjuster. If there is luggage on the bike or someone else sitting behind, this feature can be useful in setting the suspension.

There was no change in features either

The list of features in the 2027 model remains the same as before. The bike has an adjustable windscreen, which the rider can set as per his convenience. Apart from this, full-LED lighting, traction control and 4.3-inch TFT color display is available. Smartphone connectivity facility is also provided in the TFT screen, which helps the rider to use some phone features on the bike screen.

Large fuel tank of 21 liters

Versys 650 has a fuel tank of 21 liters. A larger tank can be especially beneficial on long distance rides as there may be less need to stop frequently to refuel. The weight of the bike with full tank is 220kg. Its seat height is 845mm, so shorter riders may feel a little challenged while handling the bike. However, the ground clearance of 170mm can be helpful on bad roads, speed breakers and rough terrains.

Will compete with Honda NX500

In India, Kawasaki Versys 650 competes in the middleweight touring and adventure bike segment. One of its major alternatives is the Honda NX500, which is priced at ₹ 7.44 lakh. However, the style of both the bikes is slightly different. The Versys 650 is a more touring-focused bike, while the NX500's setup leans more towards adventure riding.

The ex-showroom price of 2027 Kawasaki Versys 650 is ₹8.63 lakh. The company has mainly added Candy Lime Green color to the new model, while the rest of the bike remains the same as before.
