A group of clouds descending from the chest of the mountain. The hidden aroma of the pine forest. And the silent call of the snowy peaks. All in all, North-East India has always been a dream destination for travelers. To make that dream a reality, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) brought a special itinerary. 'The Green Escape – 3 States, X Guwahati' package was launched to tie these three states – Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh – together. In this long trip of 11 days and 10 nights, the tourists will get the opportunity to taste the unique look-juice-smell of the North East.

What's in the package?
This journey starting from Guwahati is like a fairy tale. Passing the holy land of Kamakhya Devi and the blue waters of the Umiam Lake, the tourist car will proceed to the foothills of Meghalaya. Next destination is the 'land of clouds' Shillong and evergreen Cherrapunji. Elephant Falls, the roar of Nookalikai Falls, Asia's cleanest village Maolinong and the crystal clear Umongot River of Dauki—all in all a magical canvas of nature. Crossing the Bangladesh border at Dauki, the tour will proceed towards the Kaziranga Sanctuary.

The next chapter in Kaziranga's journey across the one-horned rhinoceros kingdom is the chilly thrill of Arunachal Pradesh. From Kaziranga, the journey will reach Tawang via Chhayaghera Dirang. Arriving in Tawang is a different feeling to see the enchanting beauty of Sela Pass, Jasbantgarh War Memorial and Jung Falls. Time in Tawang will be available for two consecutive days. The historical Tawang Monastery, Sangester (Madhuri) Lake and Boom La Pass are bound to touch the hearts of the tourists. China border visit is also available subject to permission from the Indian Army. After the hiding of mountains and clouds, this memorable trip will end back in Guwahati.

What benefits will you get?
This tour will start from Guwahati every Tuesday of the week. IRCTC is fully responsible for accommodation and travel. This package includes 10 nights of comfortable hotel accommodation, breakfast and dinner, tourist car for transportation and sightseeing, travel insurance, inner line permit and GST.
