IND W vs THAI W: The third match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 was played on 30 August between the Indian women’s team and Thailand women’s team at the Dubai International Stadium. Thailand won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Indian team, which came to bat first, got an average start.
Shefali Verma played a brilliant half-century innings for India. Apart from him, no other Indian batsman could impress much. India ultimately won the match by a huge margin of 94 runs. Deepti Sharma also became the highest wicket-taker in T20I women’s cricket and created history.
India had scored 159 runs
Smriti Mandhana, who played the role of opening batsman, scored 19 runs in 10 balls. However, she was run out in this match. After this Shefali Verma took charge. He played an unbeaten inning of 64 runs in 36 balls. During his innings he also hit 8 fours and 3 sixes. Pratika Rawal came out to bat at number 3. He made his T20I debut in this match. Pratika could not play a big innings in the debut match and was out after scoring 22 runs in 18 balls.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also disappointed and was out after scoring 5 runs in 9 balls. After this the Indian team fell apart like a pack of cards. Bharti Phoolmale contributed 13 runs in 14 balls. For India, Kranti Gaur played an unbeaten inning of 15 runs in 8 balls and took Team India’s score to 159/9 runs in 20 overs.
Suliporn Laomi took 3 wickets for Thailand. Apart from this, Sunida Chaturongrattana got 2 successes, while Thipacha Puthavong and Chanida Suthiruang got 1 success each.
Thailand lost
Chasing the target of 160 runs, Thailand team was reduced to 65 runs in 16.1 overs. Nannapat Konchroenkai scored the most runs for Thailand. He played an inning of 41 runs in 48 balls. Apart from this, no batsman could even cross the double figures. Openers Nattakan Chantam and Fannita Maya scored 4 and 6 runs respectively. Aphisara Suvanchonrathi contributed 1 run and Chanida Suthiruang contributed 5 runs. In this way India won the match by a margin of 94 runs.
Nandani Sharma and Deepti Sharma got 3-3 successes from India’s side. Deepti also became the highest wicket-taker in T-20I women’s cricket.
