Hyundai Motor India has revealed its upcoming production plan, announcing the launch of as many as 26 new cars and major updates in India by 2030. Under this plan, a new India-specific electric SUV will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2026 (Q4 2026), followed by a new midsize SUV.
Electric SUV features
Hyundai's upcoming electric SUV has been developed exclusively for the Indian market and will focus on the high-volume segment. It has confirmed the next-generation infotainment system based on Pleos technology and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The car will offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge and will be available in two different battery pack options.

Hybrid and other launches
The next-gen Creta is also included in this big plan of the company, and it is expected that this five-seater midsize SUV will be offered with a strong hybrid powertrain. Also, the new crossover car 'Bayeon', which sits between the Venue and Creta, may also enter the Indian market. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrids and range-extended electric vehicles are being emphasized as part of Hyundai's global strategy.

Production and export capacity
As new products are introduced in India, the company will also increase its production capacity. Currently, Hyundai has an annual capacity of 1.1 lakh vehicles in India and will add another 3.2 lakh units by 2030. India will continue to be an important export hub for markets in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and South America. Hyundai is targeting around 90 per cent local sourcing in India by 2023, with exports expected to account for around 30 per cent of total production by 2030.
