Manchester City has completed the signing of 22-year-old Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras on a five-year deal, making him the club’s sixth arrival of the summer window.

City’s Director of Football Hugo Viana said on the winger, “Allan is a really exciting player, and we think he will be a big addition to the squad. He has shown throughout his short career so far that he will fight to be the best he can be.”

According to reports, City paid approximately 40 million euros for Elias, who progressed through Palmeiras’ academy and made 96 senior appearances for the São Paulo side. He joins his fellow new arrivals Elliot Anderson, Geronimo Rulli, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Jeremy Monga and Pierce Charles at the Etihad.

Speaking after the announcement, Allan said: “This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players. To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life. I love Palmeiras and always will — but the decision to come to Manchester City was an easy one.”

The Flórianópolis native also added that he aims to become “another good Brazilian” in the Premier League, citing former Manchester City stars Gabriel Jesus, Ederson and Fernandinho, all of whom hold Premier League title-wins with the club, and as players he hopes to emulate.
