IPL Impact Player Rule : Discussion has started once again regarding the most controversial rule of IPL i.e. 'Impact Player' rule, which allows franchise teams to field a 12th player in the tournament. In recent times, many star players have raised questions regarding this rule. Now BCCI has sought opinion from the franchise teams on this rule and other issues.

According to the report, BCCI/IPL has sent a mail to all the franchises, apart from the 'Impact Player' rule, they have also sought the opinion of the franchises on several other issues, which include matters to PMOA, umpiring, practice sessions and playing conditions. He has been given time till Monday (31 August) to give his opinion on these issues. But the most important thing in a short message sent to teams recently was about the 'Impact Player' rule. There has been a mixed reaction in the league regarding this rule; Especially in the last season, many matches were high-scoring, due to which concerns were raised about the helpless bowlers.

While it is normal for the BCCI to seek feedback on the last IPL season that ended a few months ago, it seems a bit strange to specifically seek feedback on the 'Impact Player' rule, which was expected to remain in place for at least one more season. The most noteworthy thing is that the captains' meeting has been mentioned in the message.

Let us tell you that many veteran players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel and Shubman Gill have openly opposed this idea. On the other hand, there are supporters of this rule. Now the big question is whether this rule will be reviewed in the next season or not? It is also believed that it can be removed before the next season.
