Automobile Desk: The demand for premium and powerful SUVs is continuously increasing in the Indian automobile market. In this sequence, Nissan is working on a plan to launch its global identity full-size SUV 'Nissan Patrol' in India. According to reports to the auto sector, this vehicle can hit the Indian roads by the beginning of 2027. The company will import it into the country as a completely built unit i.e. CBU (Completely Built Unit).
Nissan Patrol, considered to be the best combination of luxury and strength, will be introduced as a limited number of flagship models. It is based on a traditional body-on-frame platform, which gives it the ability to handle all types of rough terrains. In terms of size and design, it will give direct competition to big vehicles like Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Toyota Fortuner already present in the Indian market. This three-row train will provide comfortable seating for maximum 8 passengers.
Talking about engine and performance, the company can provide 3.5-litre capacity twin-turbo V6 petrol engine in it. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 425 horsepower and a massive torque of 700 Newton-meters. To handle the power it is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Apart from this, the vehicle will be provided with a part-time 4WD (four-wheel drive) system for better grip and control on rough and challenging roads. Be it high speed on the highway or the thrill of off-roading, its mechanism has been designed to suit both the situations.
The cabin and interior of the vehicle have been made very modern and comfortable. In this, adaptive air suspension and large 22-inch alloy wheels can be seen for the convenience of passengers. For the convenience of the driver, two 14.3-inch digital displays can be provided, which give a very tech-savvy look to the cockpit. The front seats may also include a massage feature with a 'zero-gravity' design. For on-board entertainment, second-row passengers are expected to get 12.8-inch screens and a 12-speaker 'Klipsch' premium sound system. A glimpse of Patrol's historical journey starting from 1951 can also be seen in the exterior puddle lamps of the vehicle.
Nissan is going to include advanced technology in it in terms of safety and driving assistance. In terms of safety, the vehicle can be provided with seven airbags as well as 'ProPILOT' technology, lane keep assist and lane departure warning features. It is also likely to get an innovative feature like 'Invisible Hood View' to see the road below the vehicle, which proves to be very helpful during off-roading.
