An Air India Express flight from Dammam to Delhi made a precautionary landing at Ahmedabad airport after a note containing the word “bomb” was found in the aircraft’s lavatory, prompting a security alert.

The flight had 32 passengers on board. The note, addressed to a crew member, reportedly contained only the word “bomb” in English.

All 32 Passengers Safely Evacuated

All passengers were safely evacuated after the aircraft landed at Ahmedabad airport and were taken to a secure area at Terminal 2. No injuries were reported.

Security personnel and bomb disposal squads surrounded the aircraft and carried out standard safety protocols.

Aircraft Thoroughly Searched, No Explosives Found

Authorities conducted a thorough search of the aircraft, including the cabin, seats and cargo hold. NDTV reported.

No explosives or other suspicious items were found during the search, following which the aircraft was cleared by airport authorities.

Probe Underway To Identify Person Behind Note

Security agencies have launched an investigation to identify who placed the note in the lavatory and determine the motive behind the apparent hoax threat.

An Air India Express spokesperson said one of its flights from Dammam to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad as a precaution and in accordance with security protocols after the airline was alerted to a specific bomb threat.

“The government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was alerted immediately, and all security procedures promptly initiated. The flight landed and all guests have been disembarked safely. The aircraft will be released for operations after necessary security checks are completed,” the spokesperson said.
