Chelsea teenage forward Dastan Satpayev has joined Burnley on a season-long loan after officially completing his long-awaited transfer to Stamford Bridge from Kairat. The 18-year-old Kazakhstan international, who recently signed with the Blues until 2033, will now head directly to Turf Moor with the clear objective of getting regular first-team football.

Satpayev completes Burnley move

Burnley have brought in Chelsea youngster Satpayev on a season-long loan deal ahead of the 2026-27 Championship campaign. The 18-year-old Kazakhstan international recently wrapped up his much-anticipated move to Stamford Bridge from Kairat Almaty, signing a contract that runs until 2033. Although the transfer had originally been agreed in February 2025, it only became official once the attacker turned 18 this week.

Kazakh talent relishing the chance

The highly rated youngster, who has won eight senior caps for Kazakhstan, said he is excited about embracing a new challenge in English football with the Clarets.

Speaking to Burnley’s official website, Satpayev set out his aims: “I’m very pleased to be here. It’s a great opportunity for me in my career and a great club to show what I can do and help the team get back to where they belong.”

He also stressed that he is ready for the challenge at Turf Moor: “It’s my first time playing in England and I’m ready now to take on the next chapter and have a successful time with Burnley.”

Record-breaker strengthens Clarets squad

Satpayev arrives in England with a growing reputation after becoming the youngest player in Kazakhstan’s history when he made his senior international debut against Curacao in March 2025. The Kairat academy product continued his rapid development in the Champions League group stage last season, scoring against FC Copenhagen after testing himself against the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

His finishing ability was underlined again by an opening goal against Belgium in World Cup qualifying, as well as a strike against Western Sydney Wanderers during Chelsea’s pre-season tour under head coach Xabi Alonso.

Championship promotion push awaits

Satpayev will now focus on adjusting quickly to the demands of Championship football under manager Nicky Hayen as he looks to earn regular minutes in Burnley’s attack. His arrival gives the Clarets a fresh attacking option and important firepower in the frontline as they chase an immediate return to the Premier League.
